He was born in Luna, La Union, Philippines to Lorenzo Baylon Camins and Antonia Lorenzana Camins. He grew up in Quezon City, where the family had a house behind the SSS building in East Avenue, Diliman . He graduated from the University of the Philippines in high school and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, also from UP in 1967. He married Erlinda Cordero Santos, in 1973 with whom he had 3 children. He learned several Filipino dialects including Ilocano, Cebuano and Ilonggo. His first career was in sales- selling appliances.. He worked as an insurance agent and as a District and Regional Manager for an industrial chemical distributor for a long time and then established his own company in the same line of business. He also did other business ventures, including establishing his own video photography business. Bobby was active in civic and community organizations. He became a member of the Beta Sigma fraternity while in college and continued friendships with his fraternity brothers throughout his life. He became a senator and served as president of the Junior Chamber (JCI or Jaycees) of the Philippines, Quezon City Chapter. He was also an active member of the local chapter of the Rotary Club, participating in numerous fundraisers and social service events. He is survived by his mother and children - daughter Amabella S. Camins, and sons - Albert S. Camins and Alexis S. Camins; daughters-in-law Cindy Chung Camins and Sharon Dahlen Camins and only grandson Anakin Solinh Camins. He is also survived by his sister and brother -in-law, Sylvia and Brigido Figueroa, brothers William, Lawrence, Rodolfo, Philip and Benjamin and sisters-in-law; Marilou, Lualhati, Christy and Nanette. He has 6 nieces (Janet and Joy Figueroa and Nicole, Angela, Rachel and Rianne Camins).
